Children will dance at Spring Celebration

Hebrew and Polish language, Yiddish songs and mixed folk dances will be integrated into performances at the Spring Celebration to be presented at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the multipurpose room of the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane.

Akiva Academy students in grades three through six have been learning the historic dances of the children of the Shtetl community under the tutelage of Stas Kime , artistic director of Ballet Western Reserve.

They will give a premiere performance of the dances at the Spring Celebration.

There is no admission charge for the Spring Celebration.

Investment seminar at McGuffey Centre

YOUNGSTOWN

Associated Neighborhood Centers, in collaboration with Caffey Consulting, will offer a free investment seminar at 11 a.m. Thursday at McGuffey Centre, 1649 Jacobs Road.

Topics will include financial literacy, life insurance, 401-K and investment.

Apostolic church plans rummage sale

AUSTINTOWN

Galilee Apostolic Church, 4009 Elmwood Ave., will have a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. Hot dogs will be available for lunch.

On Saturday there will be a $3 a bag sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. A donation will be accepted for a light lunch of soup, salad and sandwiches from 3 to 6 p.m., and there will be musical entertainment from noon to 4 p.m.

H.O.W. to sponsor bowling fundraiser

YOUNGSTOWN

Helping Other Women Inc. will sponsor a bowling fundraiser from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Mahoning Valley Lanes, 2617 Mahoning Ave., between Hazelwood and Schenley avenues.

The event will include a basket auction and door prizes. Refreshments will be available.
