“Chuck” and “90210” (8 p.m., NBC and The CW): May is always the month of wedded blitz in prime time. Tonight, the season finales of both “Chuck” and “90210” feature the prospect of nuptials that vary widely in style and level of violence.
“How I Met Your Mother” (8 p.m., CBS): There’s another wedding on the season finale of “How I Met Your Mother” — one where Ted (Josh Radnor) supposedly meets his future wife. But considering that the show has been renewed for at least two more seasons, we don’t expect a huge reveal.
“FREEDOM RIDERS” (9 p.m., PBS): This powerful new installment of the “American Experience” series recalls a pivotal eight-month period that changed our nation forever. From May through December 1961, more than 400 black and white Americans risked their lives by simply traveling on buses through the Deep South. Deliberately violating Jim Crow laws, they met with bitter racism and mob violence along the way and put their belief in nonviolent activism to a severe test. The two-hour film offers interviews with those who participated, as well as journalists who witnessed the defiant rides.
