Shootings probed

Police were called to Joe’s One Stop Food Mart, 1395 Elm St., about shots being fired and later were called to St. Elizabeth Health Center about a gunshot victim in an incident at 11:15 p.m. Saturday.
The victim, Michael Paige, 19, of Zents Street, said he was in the parking lot of the food mart when he and his companions heard about 10 shots being fired. Paige was unable to get back into the car and was hit three times in his right leg and buttocks area. He was listed as stable.
The 20-year-old male driver of the car said he had gone into the store to buy something. As he walked back to his car, he heard gunshots, jumped in the car and left Paige behind. Police found a spent Winchester bullet casing in the parking lot. The victim told police he doesn’t know who shot him or why.
The store manager confirmed that about 10 shots were fired; he said he looked outside but didn’t see anything.
Suspect sought
YOUNGSTOWN
Police are looking for Kevin Johnson of Youngstown in connection with a shooting at a house on East Dewey Avenue that occurred Saturday afternoon. Johnson reportedly is in his 20s.
Police said a group of men fired on the house, where four adults and three children live, with semi-automatic weapons. No one was injured.
Police have arrested Dwayne E. Boone, 22, of Lemans Drive, Boardman, and Boston Walker, 21, of Southern Boulevard.
Man charged
YOUNGSTOWN
Police charged Dennis Favors, 54, of the 400 block of West Delason with robbery, criminal damaging and endangering after an incident about 4 a.m. Sunday.
At a house in the 300 block of West Delason, Favors banged on the door and threw the porch furniture around, police said. The 50-year-old female resident and mother of seven came out of the house with a hammer. Favors reportedly punched her three times on the right side of the face and got the hammer away from her and hit her with it on her face.
The victim refused treatment. Favors was taken to the Mahoning County jail.
Store burglary
YOUNGSTOWN
Police responded to an alarm activation and report of someone in the Rainbow Red and White, 1451 Elm St., at 7:14 a.m. Sunday.
A male fled the store and entered a vacant building on the northeast corner of Elm and later fled on a bicycle toward Ohio Avenue.
Entry was gained through prying open a door, police said.In the building, police found two buckets filled with lottery tickets and cigarettes.
A key holder was notified, and he will conduct an inventory to determine what is missing.
