Women Hand in Hand brunch speaker named
YOUNGSTOWN
Women Hand in Hand will have its 25th annual brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 21 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Hall, 343 Via Mount Carmel.
The featured speaker will be Dr. Virginia Banks-Bright, MD, MMBA, FISDA, a specialist in infectious diseases.
The brunch represents the celebration of 25 years of dedication to assisting mothers to further their education. Since its inception, the organization has raised more than $150,000 to benefit mothers of the community.
Tickets for the brunch are $25 and may be purchased from any member of the organization. Doris Perry is a founder, and Dr. Ruth Quarles is club president.
Course on boating offered at center
CANFIELD
Boaters of all ages are invited to participate in a public boating course, which will begin May 24 and continue every Wednesday through June 22 at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center on Palmyra Road. The course covers watercraft operation and safety.
Those completing the course will exceed all mandatory educational requirements to operate a watercraft greater than 10-horsepower. Any boater born on or after Jan. 1, 1982, must have completed this course.

Camp JCC planned for kids in the summer
YOUNGSTOWN
The Youngstown Jewish Community Center is registering kids for Camp JCC this summer.
The camp, 10 weeks of summer activities, is for kids in grades one through eight and offers swimming, tennis, basketball, aerobics, dance, volleyball, soccer and much more.
Campers can also go horseback riding, attend Lego Camp and take field trips to the Great Lakes Science Center, Pioneer Waterland and a Cleveland Indians baseball game. The camp is offered in 10 one-week sessions.
