Miss Whitaker, Mr. DelBane set wedding date

GROTON, CONN.

JennnyBeth Whitaker and Robert L. DelBane, both of Groton, are announcing their engagement and plans for their summer wedding.

The couple will exchange nuptial vows during a 3 p.m. ceremony Aug. 13 at Cherry Lane United Methodist Church in Tannersville, Pa. Invitations will be issued for the wedding and for a reception to follow at Coolbaugh Township Fire Hall, Tobyhanna, Pa.

The bride-elect is a daughter of Lorraine Bailey of Durham, N.C., and Stephen Whitaker of Susquehanna, Pa. She graduated from Charter Oak State College with a bachelor’s degree in communications. She is a sign language interpreter with the American School for the Deaf in West Hartford, Conn.

Parents of the future groom are Suzann Mesaros of Hermitage, Pa., and Robert F. DelBane of Hubbard. He served with the U.S. Air Force from 1994 to 1998 and graduated from Kent State University with a bachelor’s degree in English. He is pursuing a career in technical writing.
