The Campbell Memorial High School Class of 1958 will award a $1,000 scholarship to a 2011 graduating senior in June.

Graduates of 1958 who’d like to donate to the scholarship fund created by John Kovach should mail checks to Judy Ross Patellis, 622 Matawan Drive, Campbell 44505. Make checks payable to Campbell Class of 1958.

The Beaver Local School District is registering in-district children for kindergarten for 2011-12.

Registration packets may be picked up at the elementary school the child will attend. Completed registration requires an official birth certificate (with original embossed seal) showing the child will be age 5 by Aug. 1; a copy of the immunization record; Social Security card, legal documents showing custody and/or legal guardianship if applicable; and proof of residency.

Each year, the district conducts Early Impact, which involves child and parent participation. Program dates are May 24-26. When the completed registration is returned, the Early Impact date will be set.

Scholarship available

Salem

A $150 scholarship is available for a college junior or senior majoring in family and consumer sciences or home economics or a related field such as dietetics, nutrition, child development, housing, culinary arts or interior design. A student who has completed half of a two-year program in this field is also eligible.

The Columbiana County Association of Family and Consumer Sciences is offering this scholarship to students living in Columbiana County or a bordering county: Mahoning, Jefferson, Stark or Carroll.

The application deadline is July 1 and may be obtained from Diana Nordquest, 399 Shelton Road, Salem, Ohio 44460.
