Raids yield drugs, 1 arrest

Police conducted raids at two city homes, making one arrest and finding small amounts of drugs, drug paraphernalia and cash.
According to police reports, officers served a search warrant at 44 W. Auburndale Ave. on Thursday evening. Upon arrival, officers found two women and one man on the front porch of the house. Another man, 34-year-old Stacey Mahone Jr. of Hillman Street, was found inside the house.
Reports say all four people were placed in handcuffs and made to lie on the floor while the home was searched.
Reports say officers confiscated photos, six small bags of suspected crack cocaine from a toilet filled with feces, a letter explaining drug-smuggling techniques, a digital scale, suspected heroin and 70 unidentified white pills. Police also took possession of $79.
Police charged Mahone with drug abuse crack cocaine and tampering with evidence. Officers checked the other three people for any outstanding warrants, then released them.
Police also served a search warrant at 3008 Hudson Ave. on Thursday evening. Police confiscated a small bag containing suspected marijuana but did not make any arrest. Several people were listed as persons of interest in police reports.
