Indians-Mariners game postponed
The Seattle Mariners’ game in Cleveland against the Indians was postponed by heavy rain that at one point flooded the outfield at Progressive Field on Saturday.
No makeup date was immediately announced.
A series of showers hit with two outs in the bottom of the first inning with two Indians on base. After a two-hour delay, the game was called and all statistics were washed away.
The postponement kept Cleveland from getting a chance to improve on its 24-13 start, best since opening the 2001 season at 26-11. Seattle didn’t get an opportunity to snap its’ six-game losing streak.
