The Trumbull-Ashtabula Group Law Enforcement Task Force has charged Cassandra George, 23, of Shadowood Drive, Howland, with felony drug possession after an investigation related to suspected marijuana she had shipped to her house.

The investigation began Monday, when a drug-sniffing dog at a Cleveland airport detected a suspicious package addressed to George. The package was shipped to a packaging service in Howland and later picked up by George, the task force said.

She was arrested just after she took possession of the package. She pleaded innocent Tuesday in Warren Municipal Court and was released on bond. The package contained 5 pounds of suspected marijuana that came from a medical marijuana dispensing location in California.

A search of George’s home revealed additional marijuana and 13 additional boxes similar to the one used in the package that was seized, TAG said. They also recovered drug paraphernalia and $1,600 in cash.
