Dublin Grange honors its Citizen of the Year

Lucille Bartelmay, long-term volunteer for the Canfield Blood Drive, was honored for her 27 years of service to the Red Cross at the April 26 Dublin Grange of Canfield.

Bartelmay is retiring from the volunteer position that involves the six Canfield churches six times a year.

Drawings are at the Canfield United Methodist Church, with local congregations furnishing refreshments for donors and a meal for the Red Cross workers.

Dublin Grange has honored a nonmember as Outstanding Community Citizen of the Year since 1975. Also honored were long-term members of the Grange, including three members who were present: Vada Reel, 60, Elsie DeHoff, 51, Ken Reel, 50.

Speakers for the evening were Frank and Doris Cavanaugh, long-time Canfield residents, who presented a program on Canfield from 1935 to 1965, including photos and stories of growing up in a much smaller town than today.
