Center boys win Howard Parker Invitational
The Boardman Center Middle School girls and boys track teams had a successful track meet at the Howard Parker Invitational in East Palestine May 6.
The Center boys won the team title, led by big points from Zach Fryda. He won the 110 hurdles, 200 hurdles and placed third in the high jump.
Evan Croutch was also a double winner, taking titles in the shot put and discus. Seventh-grader Andrew Gable took second in the 1600and the 800. Other top competitors were David Collins, Adam Deeley, Jon Michael Dana and Brian Fryda.
The girls team, which finished second, was paced by Jordan Grantonic, who won the 1600 and 800. Ka’Nisha White won the shot put and placed second in the discus.
The girls 4X400 meter relay, consisting of Anna Saxton, Catie Groubert, Irina Sprankle and Grantonic, took second. Lily Testa and Cassie Harsh also did very well in the long jump.
