April 1

Theft: Two women stole $21 worth of hygiene products from Family Dollar, 4028 South Ave.

Theft: Two 14-year-old New Castle, Pa., girls were charged with stealing jewelry from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall, then released to the custody of their parents.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: Police in the 4000 block of Glenwood Avenue found a disabled car that belongs to a Lemans Drive woman who said no one had permission to drive it.

Harassment: A township motel employee reported his former girlfriend has made unwanted calls.

Harassment: A Lockwood Boulevard woman reported receiving unwanted calls.

Possible fraud: A Hudson Drive woman told police she was informed that a company from which she had ordered a cellphone might be fraudulent.

Misuse of a credit card: A Youngstown woman found out her card had been used to make $1,455 worth of unauthorized charges at a U.S. Route 224 store.

Robbery: Authorities responding to the theft of clothing at Sears in the Southern Park Mall charged 28-year-old Nakeia L. Hall, 176 Lauderdale Ave., Youngstown, with robbery and criminal trespassing after a store official told police Hall tried to flee, then kicked him as he attempted to detain her.

Theft: Officers issued a summons to 21-year-old Sarah A. Beal, 7385 Bonnie Place, Boardman, after three toys were stolen from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Criminal damaging: The front of a residence struck by eggs in the 1800 block of Lynn Mar Avenue sustained $350 in damage.

Theft: Angelo D. Martino Jr., 30, of 6054 Applecrest Court, Boardman, was charged in the theft of an Xbox device from Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road.

Thefts: On four occasions, video surveillance cameras at Sam’s Club, 6361 South Ave., caught a man and a woman stealing a total of 17 DVD players and numerous meat products.

April 2

Theft: Gretchen L. Garza, 32, of 715 Gladstone St., Campbell, was charged in the theft of $36 worth of cosmetics from Walmart.

Menacing: A Southern Park Mall employee told officers her former boyfriend has been following her daily and that she fears for her safety.

Menacing: A man backing out of a parking space at a Boardman- Canfield Road store reported an enraged woman threatened to hit him after claiming the man had nearly struck her son.

Theft: Various hygiene items were stolen from Family Dollar, 4030 Market St.

Domestic violence: Terrance M. Hymes, 21, of 276 Jackson St., Campbell, was arrested at Akron Children’s Hospital, 6505 Market St., and charged with the crime after police responded to a fight in which a woman alleged Hymes had punched the accuser two or three times in the face and injured her.

Aggravated menacing: A South Schenley Avenue man reported getting several calls in which he was threatened with harm and death.

Auto theft: A 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix was stolen in the 300 block of West Midlothian Boulevard.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court was found with a smashed driver’s-side window.

Criminal damaging: A South Avenue woman accused her former boyfriend of damaging her car.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 5000 block of Forest Park Place through a rear door. A flat-screen TV/DVD player unit as well as a computer and its carrying case were stolen.

Harassment: It was reported that someone has been making a series of harassing and disturbing calls to a Market Street pet store.

Criminal mischief: A Presidential Court woman noticed numerous eggs had been thrown at her home.

Theft: A woman’s $300 cellphone was taken at a Tiffany Boulevard business.

Criminal mischief: Several eggs were tossed at a residence in the 7600 block of Winterberry Drive.

Theft: A woman discovered her wallet and cellphone missing from her purse at a Doral Drive store.

April 3

Arrest: A traffic stop near Interstate 680 led to 41-year-old Eliot S. Reed’s arrest. Reed, of 107 N. Brockway Ave., Youngstown, was picked up on a felony probation-violation charge and cited when, police said, a bag of suspected marijuana was in his car.

Domestic violence: DeVontae Johnson, 22, of 1464 McCartney Road, Youngstown, faced a felony domestic-violence charge and one misdemeanor count of obstructing official business after a pregnant woman at Akron Children’s Hospital alleged Johnson had assaulted her. He also was deceptive with police, they said.

Domestic violence: A 16-year-old township girl was charged after a family member alleged the girl had attacked her younger brother during an argument.

Aggravated menacing: Three people reported having been threatened at a residence in the 5000 block of Forest Park Place.

Vandalism: Two sections of a vinyl fence were damaged near a Boardman-Poland Road restaurant. Damage came to $400.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s windshield was broken in the 50 block of Clifton Drive.

Criminal damaging: A car in the 5100 block of Youngstown-Poland Road was found with scratches and key marks on its passenger side. Criminal mischief: Someone struck a fence with eggs at a Devonshire Drive residence.

Citation: Officers responding to a fight at a Boardman-Poland Road store cited 21-year-old Travis M. Lupton, 252 Greenfield Ave., Boardman, on a charge of disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

Harassment: A Charles Avenue man reported finding disturbing messages on his son’s Facebook page.

April 4

Assault: A woman told officers a student sneaked up and punched her 12-year-old daughter in the back of the head at Boardman Center Middle School, 7410 Market St.

Criminal damaging: A Paxton Road woman discovered sugar had been placed in and near her car’s gas tank.

Theft: An envelope containing $5,000 was stolen at a Boardman-Canfield Road gas station.

Harassment: A Doncaster Drive woman found out someone had offered to send her daughter obscene material online.

Breaking and entering: Copper piping, a stove and a refrigerator were removed from a piece of rental property in the 8500 block of Southern Boulevard someone had entered.

Fraud: A Chester Drive woman learned her debit card had been used without consent to rack up $771 worth of fraudulent charges.

Theft: A man at a Boardman-Poland Road fast-food restaurant reported the theft of 17 checks and two credit cards.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle at a Market Street dealership was found with a dent in one of its quarter panels.

April 7

Theft: An Austintown woman accused her former husband, of Erskine Avenue, of stealing her medications.

Fraud: A Maple Drive man discovered $141 worth of unauthorized charges to his credit card via the Internet.

Theft: A Glendale Avenue man said a friend borrowed but refused to return his $1,700 power washer.

Domestic violence: A 17-year-old township girl was charged with the crime after her mother alleged the teen had struck her upper back during an argument.

Drug paraphernalia: Robert C. McCoy, 25, of 292 Broad St., Struthers, was taken into custody during a traffic stop on East Midlothian Boulevard. McCoy was wanted on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Menacing: A Harrow Place woman said a neighbor threatened to harm her.

Arrest: Police picked up 32-year-old Daniel Soto, 23 W. Auburndale Ave., Youngstown, at Mahoning County Area Court 127 Boardman-Canfield Road, on a charge of disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

Misuse of a credit card: A Mathews Road man learned his stolen debit card was used to make various unauthorized purchases.

Arrest: Township authorities apprehended 26-year-old William G. Hogan, 2552 Hunter Ave., Youngstown, in the city and charged him with fleeing and eluding police and endangering a child. Hogan had led officers on a vehicular and foot pursuit with a 15-year-old girl in the car, a report said.

Assault: Ashley J. Root-Bazer, 19, of 7960 Market St., Boardman, faced an assault charge after a juvenile reported having been punched in the face during a confrontation at a Boardman-Poland Road fast-food restaurant.

April 8

Recovered property: A woman’s purse was found after she reported it had been stolen near Market Street and Terrace Drive.

Drugs: Brittney V. Shipley, 21, of 1907 Cardigan St., Niles, was charged with possession of drugs when police at Akron Children’s Hospital, 6505 Market St., said she had various pills in a diaper bag.

Domestic violence: Kemontey E. Law, 36, of 4017 Hopkins Road, Boardman, was charged after his girlfriend alleged Law had jumped on her, pulled the accuser’s hair and tried to burn her with a cigarette.

Harassment: A woman filed a report on behalf of her mother, of Leighton Avenue, who said she was being stalked.

Burglary: To a home in the 100 block of Runnemede Drive, though police found no signs of forced entry. Stolen were several $150 rings.

Theft: A $73 bottle of cologne was stolen from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall, resulting in a charge against 32-year-old Jason R. Henninger, 3762 Indian Run Drive, Canfield. He was released on a summons.

April 9

Arrest: Ashley Basista, 28, of 31 Grimm Heights Drive, Struthers, faced a charge of failing to comply with police after they pulled her over in the 600 block of Cook Avenue. Basista had led officers on a vehicular pursuit before being stopped, they said.

Attempted fraud: A Carter Circle man reported receiving a $2,639 check that proved to be fraudulent.

Theft: Two Boardman girls, 15 and 16, were charged in the theft of jewelry from Claire’s Boutique in the Southern Park Mall and released to the custody of their mothers.

Drugs: Police pulled over a car near Simon Road, then took into custody 21-year-old Travis J. Martin of Columbus. He was wanted by Franklin County authorities on a felony drug-abuse charge.

Harassment: A Ridgewood Drive man reported a caller claimed his wife had won a sweepstakes drawing.

Theft: A Struthers boy, 17, was charged with stealing two shirts, a wallet and a set of headphones from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

April 10

Drug paraphernalia: A traffic stop on Market Street led to the arrest of 29-year-old Candace A. Connelly, 3705 Loveland Ave., Youngstown, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia when, police said, a digital scale and a straw with a white powdery substance were found.

Theft: A man in his 20s stole energy drinks from Dollar General, 5953 South Ave.

Arrest: Roger L. Pruitt Jr., 20, of 254 Watson St., Lowellville, surrendered on a probation-violation charge from the township.

Theft: A 17-year-old city girl was charged, accused of stealing a nail kit from Walmart. She was released to the custody of her grandmother.

Assault: A Canterbury Drive woman suffered injuries to her arms, elbows and right hand after reporting she had been pushed down a set of steps and grabbed by the arms.

Theft: An Island Drive man reported his wallet stolen in the township.

Felonious assault: A man being treated at St. Elizabeth Health Center’s Boardman Campus on Market Street told police three or four males punched him and tried to stab the accuser with a piece of a broken bottle while in the 400 block of Boardman-Poland Road.

April 11

Theft: An East Midlothian Boulevard woman discovered her debit card missing from a bedroom drawer.

Harassment: An elderly Boardman Boulevard woman reported getting three such calls, one of which the caller claimed she owes $800.

Attempted fraud: A Wilda Avenue woman told police a man called claiming she had won a 67-inch plasma TV and $850,000.

Stolen property: Police conducting a traffic stop in the 4600 block of Market Street arrested Christine A. Heard, 29, of 702 E. Boston Ave., Youngstown, on a felony count of receiving stolen property after saying the car had stolen license plates.

Theft: An undisclosed sum of money was missing from a register at Kingly Hand Wash & Wax, 309 W. Midlothian Blvd.

Theft: The title was missing from a vehicle at Boardman Towing Inc., 702 McClurg Road.

April 14

Drug paraphernalia: A 17-year-old Boardman girl was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when police conducted a vehicle search in the 7500 block of Market Street and said they found a suspected marijuana pipe.

Theft: A Carter Circle woman reported a $75 leather briefcase she had loaned someone has never been returned.

Identity theft: A Cranberry Creek Drive woman discovered someone used her Social Security number and other personal information without permission to activate a phone account.

Arrests: Police responding to suspicious activity near Alburn Drive filed charges of obstructing official business against two township boys, 15 and 16, who officers said led them on a foot pursuit and refused to stop.

Theft: A traffic stop in the 900 block of East Midlothian Boulevard led to the arrest of 40-year-old Marie E. Matta, 215 Elm St., Struthers, who was wanted by Youngstown authorities on a theft count.

Theft: Nicholos W. Collins Jr., 19, of 536 W. Scott St., Youngstown, and Denise M. Robinson, 20, of 1031 Compass West Drive, Austintown, were charged in the theft of $61.71 worth of merchandise from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive. Both were released on summonses.

Theft: A 17-year-old New Wilmington, Pa., girl was charged with stealing $93 worth of jewelry from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall. April 15

Theft: Sunny K. Crane, 24, of 224 W. Wood St., Youngstown, was charged, accused of taking makeup, hair gel and sets of eyelashes from Walmart.

Theft: A worker for a Crossroads Drive business reported her purse stolen while at work.

Theft: Felicia I. Wallace, 38, of 2727 Cain St., Youngstown, faced misdemeanor charges of theft and receiving stolen property after being accused of stealing $111 worth of clothing from Walmart and having 26 candles that had been stolen from another store. Wallace also was wanted on a warrant from Liberty Township.

Theft: Officers charged 38-year-old Miracle J. Dillion, 879 N. Market St., Lisbon, with removing a bottle of cough serum from Walgreen’s Pharmacy, 7295 Market St.

Theft: A man stole a $399 cell phone from AT&T, 7125 Tiffany Blvd.

Harassment: An employee of Hobby Town USA, 105 Boardman-Canfield Road, told police a suspect in a recent theft has been making such calls to the business.

Theft: After $35 worth of children’s clothing was taken from Walmart, authorities charged 19-year-old Jodie L. Briggs, 964 Plazaview Court, Youngstown.

Theft: A man discovered three prescription bottles missing from his Southern Boulevard home.

Identity theft: A Red Tail Hawk Drive man found out someone in North Hollywood, Calif., attempted multiple times to use his credit card.

Harassment: A Lemans Drive man reported receiving 15 such calls.

April 16

Criminal damaging: A man left a Boardman-Canfield Road restaurant and noticed damage to his vehicle’s driver’s-side doors.

Identity theft: A Peachtree Court man found out someone in Florida filed an income-tax return using his Social Security number.

Menacing: A West Boulevard woman called police after someone had left a message stating she would be found dead.

Theft: A Lemans Drive woman discovered her lost debit card was used without consent.

April 17

Criminal damaging: A garage window was broken in the 4600 block of Euclid Boulevard.

Menacing: A man at an East Midlothian Boulevard gas station told authorities a customer threatened to harm him after becoming irate about the accuser’s selection of an Ohio Lottery ticket number.

Theft: Two women in their 20s stole 16 items from Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road.

Truck theft: A 2004 Ford F-250 truck was stolen in the 400 block of Boardman-Poland Road.

April 18

Intimidation: An Erie Street man told police another man threatened to shoot at the accuser’s residence if another family member testified in a robbery case.

Theft: Loumanda Belcher, 47, of 410 W. Ravenwood Ave., Youngstown, was charged in the theft of a women’s wristwatch and three bags of candy from Kmart.

Bad check: A Cleveland area woman reported her Boardman-Poland Road business issued her a $330 check she later was unable to cash because of insufficient funds.

Misuse of a credit card: A Lowellville man learned his missing credit card was used to make $2,545 worth of unauthorized purchases in Boardman.

Harassment: A Mathews Road man reported an irate customer made a threatening call to him.

Theft: A man discovered his $100 cell phone missing while at a Doral Drive store.

Theft: A Youngstown woman told officers her automated-teller-machine card had been used to make $298 worth of unauthorized purchases in the township.

Assault: A woman reported her 13-year-old son was grabbed by the throat, punched, kicked and pinned against a wall at a McClurg Road business.

Theft: An Oles Avenue woman reported her $90 bicycle stolen.

Breaking and entering: Someone entered Harbour Pet Center, 7338 Market St., through an unlocked roof hatch, though nothing appeared to be missing or displaced.

Theft: Shane M. Sheerer, 22, of 2473 Stocker St., Youngstown, was cited and released on a summons after two video games had been stolen from Walmart.

Theft: An undisclosed amount of money was missing from a safe at McDonald’s, 1110 Boardman-Poland Road.
