The 17th annual Angels for Animals Gigantic Garage Sale offered several thousand bargain hunters the opportunity to browse thousands of square feet for great deals on thousands of items. The sale was April 29-30 and May 1 at the Canfield Fairgrounds.
The sale was spread throughout four buildings on the fairgrounds and offered a huge variety of items, including small appliances, books, holiday items, toys, household items, bicycles, electronics, furniture, sporting goods, tools, antiques and collectibles, jewelry, linens, purses and shoes. Attendees were given a list of items in each building and a map to help them locate the buildings.
According to Diane Less, developmental director for Angels for Animals, the organization added 3,500 square feet to this year’s sale.
“We would like to thank everyone for supporting our annual garage sale. Due to the wonderful support of the community, we have grown larger every year,” Less said.
Angels for Animals accepted donations for the sale in the three days before the start of the sale. Numerous volunteers priced the items and set up tables in the buildings. Volunteers from the organization also helped in every aspect of the sale, from collecting entrance fees, to working the food stand, to working the checkouts in each building and keeping the tables and items organized.
A Chinese auction was also held with baskets full of donated items and a 50/50 raffle was also available.
All proceeds from the sale will go directly to help stray and abandoned animals.
