Youngstown police probe East Side gunfire

YOUNGSTOWN

Police are investigating a shooting on the city’s East Side.

According to police reports, an 18-year-old Elm Street woman was driving along Albert Street at Victor Street at 8:40 p.m. Thursday when she noticed bright lights in her rearview mirror then heard the sound of gunfire.

Reports say bullets struck the car’s trunk area, rear window and front windshield. The driver, in her attempt to flee, struck a guardrail and called police.
