A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:
POLAND
May 5
Theft: A laptop computer and other items were removed from a home in the 5300 block of Kennedy Road, for an estimated loss of $4,992.
May 9
Criminal mischief: Part of a driveway was damaged in the 2400 block of Edgewater Drive.
BOARDMAN
May 6
Harassment: A McDonald woman told police her brother-in-law called threatening to kill her while she was at St. Elizabeth Health Center’s Boardman Campus, 8401 Market St.
Theft: Kimberly R. Kapsouris, 32, of 330 Greenwood St., Youngstown, faced charges of theft and obstructing official business after a pair of $89 men’s jeans had been stolen from Dillard’s in the Southern Park Mall. Kapsouris gave police her sister’s name, they said.
Theft: A Lisbon woman reported a former friend, of Oregon Trail, refused to return a cable box and modem, as well as a $500 class ring.
Theft: Two people stole several men’s tank tops from Dollar General, 5953 South Ave.
Drugs: Officers cited 20-year-old Andrew D. Watson, 5033 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, on two misdemeanor drug charges during a traffic stop near Melbourne Avenue.
Misuse of a credit card: A Market Street man discovered his debit card had been used without permission to make 14 transactions totaling $833.
Domestic violence: Robert Nelson, 27, of 629 Hyatt Ave., Campbell, surrendered after his estranged wife, of Carter Circle, alleged Nelson had threatened to harm her during a dispute regarding personal property.
Aggravated menacing: An Arden Boulevard woman said her former boyfriend made about 20 unwanted calls, including one in which he threatened to kill her.
Theft: Two people in their 40s stole eight earphones from AT&T, 7125 Tiffany Blvd.
Theft: Evelyn L. Price, 64, of Mifflintown, Pa., was charged with taking women’s clothing from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: Three sticks of deodorant were stolen from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road, resulting in a charge against 19-year-old Brandon J. Evans, 320 Melbourne Ave., Boardman.
Theft: Robert M. Getsy, 52, of 1635 Mayfield Ave., Youngstown, faced a felony count after a $550 sweeper was taken from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: A customer rented but stopped making payments on three TVs and a refrigerator from Eagle Rental Purchase, 6322 Market St.
Possible theft: A Canfield woman reported her wallet lost or stolen at a Boardman-Poland Road store.
Burglary: To an apartment in the 70 block of Terrace Drive through a rear door. Stolen were $1,000, a digital camera and several pieces of jewelry.
Theft: Nineteen catalytic converters were stolen from vehicles at J.D. Byrider, 7871 Market St. The theft came to $3,800.
May 7
Arrest: Officers responding to a fight on Market Street charged 20-year-old Amber C. Uscianowski, 13169 Unity Road, New Springfield, with underage consumption of alcohol.
Criminal damaging: Someone tossed a brick through a living-room window in the 7000 block of Paxton Road.
Criminal mischief: A Beechwood Drive man said a neighbor used a cigarette lighter in an effort to burn clothing on the accuser’s clothesline.
Theft: Fernando Ferna, 34, of Elizabeth, N.J., was charged with stealing clothing from Abercrombie & Fitch in the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: A man took men’s cologne from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Menacing: A Lockwood Boulevard woman told police her son was threatened by the father of the person he’s dating.
Theft: A woman removed makeup and undergarments from Dollar General, 271 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Theft: Two people left Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar, 6691 South Ave., without paying their $23 food bill.
Burglary: To a home in the 400 block of Rockland Drive, from which $175 was missing.
Theft: Deonte Hamilton, 19, of Cleveland was charged in the theft of $20 worth of Ohio Lottery tickets from a Sunoco gas station, 5721 Market St.
Aggravated menacing: Several employees of a Market Street restaurant told officers a co-worker made threatening statements regarding his employment status.
Harassment: An Alverne Drive woman reported receiving two such calls.
May 8
Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 5700 block of Mill Creek Boulevard was found with its driver’s-side mirror broken off.
Arrest: A traffic stop near Glenwood Avenue led to the arrest of 20-year-old Patrick I. Leach, 21 Melbourne Ave., Boardman, whom Struthers authorities accused of failing to appear in court on a charge of possession of criminal tools.
Theft: A woman in her 50s stole dog food from Family Dollar, 4030 Market St.
Identity theft: A North Cadillac Drive woman discovered her credit score had plummeted, then learned someone used her information to obtain $2,906 worth of fraudulent medical services before a collection agency contacted her.
Domestic violence: Authorities took 33-year-old Aaron R. Schrum, 169 Oakley Ave., Boardman, into custody on two counts of domestic violence and one felony charge of possession of drugs after two family members reported having been struck but not seriously injured during a prolonged argument. Schrum also had several pills that were not prescribed to him, a report said.
Theft: David W. Buchanan, 37, of 5512 Callaway Drive, Youngstown, was accused in the theft of $21 worth of cologne from Macy’s.
Harassment: A Lockwood Boulevard woman reported getting 10 hang-up calls.
Aggravated menacing: Two township girls told police they received threatening calls and text messages, including one threatening to kill them.
Fraud: A Glenwood Avenue man noticed an unauthorized charge on his credit-card statement.
Misuse of a credit card: A Tara Court man reported his stolen debit card was used to make five unauthorized transactions, including three at township businesses.
Theft: A vehicle’s rear license plate was removed in the 1300 block of Doral Drive.
Aggravated menacing: A manager of a Boardman-Poland Road eatery reported an intoxicated customer made obscene comments and threatening moves, then later threatened several employees over the phone.
Theft: Alvin W. Flick Jr., 28, of 323 Lisbon St., Canfield, was accused of taking a bottle of soda from Walmart.
May 9
Burglary: To an apartment in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court through a window. Among property stolen was a flat-screen TV and a purse.
Burglary: Took place in the 7500 block of Glenwood Avenue through an unlocked side window. Stolen were a laptop computer and a digital camera.
Criminal damaging: Someone in the 4800 block of Oak Knoll Drive spray-painted derogatory words on a vehicle’s driver’s-side, causing about $1,000 in damage.
Assault: A Poland man at a Boardman-Poland Road eatery told officers another man loudly using offensive language on a cellphone shoved the accuser when he suggested the man speak outside.
Theft: Mary K. Mirich, 36, of 1590 Brownlee Ave., Youngstown, was charged in the theft of baby clothing, sun block and soap from Walmart. She was released on a summons.
Harassment: A worker for a Boardman-Poland Road restaurant reported getting six obscene and unwanted calls.
Harassment: A Shadyside Drive woman said she received three such calls.
Harassment: A Prestwick Drive woman reported getting unwanted emails and calls.
Criminal damaging: A front-window frame was damaged at a residence in the 6700 block of Bluebird Lane.
Theft: A woman discovered a $220 MP3 player missing from her Southern Boulevard apartment.
Bad check: A woman told police a $315 check she deposited from her former Boardman-Poland Road employer bounced and that she had to pay overdraft fees.
Theft: Officers charged 39-year-old Markeda E. Dorsey, 1296 Youngstown Road, Warren, with stealing clothing and soap from Dollar General, 5953 South Ave.
