Beaver Township Park Board will have its annual trash and treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Woodworth Park, off Western Reserve Road, between Market Street and Southern Boulevard. For more information call the board at 330-549-9552.

Plant sale scheduled by dahlia society

YOUNGSTOWN

Mahoning Valley Dahlia Society will have its annual dahlia plant sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (or until sold out) Sunday at the Davis Education Center in Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park. There will be no early sales. Members of the society will answer questions, and Linda Vuletich and Kathy Foith will demonstrate how to make lightweight cement-based Hypertufa containers. A society meeting will begin at 2 p.m.

Benefit dinner

AUSTINTOWN

Knights of Columbus, Council 3930, will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Center, 4500 Norquest Blvd. There also will be a 50-50 raffle and basket auction. Proceeds will benefit an IHM parishioner whose house was damaged by fire.

Dinners are $6.50 for adults and $3.50 for children. Those under 6 eat free.

Church plans movie nights

CANFIELD

Canfield Christian Church, 123 S. Broad St., will offer monthly movie nights through October. The church will supply free popcorn and drinks. Movies will be shown outside, weather permitting, so take a blanket and a lawn chair.

Movie dates and titles follow:

May 20, “Letters to God” (may not be suitable for children under 12).

June 17, “The Velveteen Rabbit.”

July 15, “The Sand Lot.”

Aug. 19, “The Chronicles of Narnia.”

Sept. 16, “Secretariat.”

Oct. 21, “The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry.”

The movies start at dusk, and a social hour with games begins one hour prior.
