The city has posted the results of a civil-service test firefighters took to determine who will be the next chief.
Gary Mudryk, who has been with the Struthers Fire Department for 16 years, scored highest on the test, which he and four other firefighters took April 28.
The results were posted Wednesday. Also taking the test were William Simcox, Brian Stellato, Kenneth Sabol and Michael Agnone.
“He’s been a great employee,” said Mayor Terry Stocker. “And I’m elated all of them did so well.”
Stocker said all the applicants have a five-day period to review their tests and appeal any answers they believe were scored incorrectly.
If there are no objections during that time, he said, he will offer Mudryk the job. Mudryk will not officially become chief until Chief Harold Mulligan retires June 23. The Struthers department has 10 full-time firefighters and 25 volunteers.
