ULTA Beauty, a beauty retailer, will host its grand opening today at its new location, 403 Boardman-Poland Road.
As part of its grand-opening weekend, ULTA will give away gift certificates, makeovers and free vendor services.
ULTA’s hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
Avalon Holdings 1st-quarter results
WARREN
Avalon Holdings Corp. recently announced its 2011 first-quarter financial results. Net operating revenues increased $1.6 million from first quarter 2010 to $9.9 million. The company suffered a net loss of $300,000, compared with a loss of $600,000 during the same time last year.
Job fair planned
NORTH CANTON
Suarez Manufacturing Industries, LT Enterprises LLC and Patriot Enterprises of Ohio will host a job fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at the Hoover District Auditorium, 219 E. Maple St., to recruit team members to produce the EdenPURE Infrared Portable Heater.
EdenPURE, previously produced in China, will be produced at Suarez’s new facility in North Canton, which is expected to open in June.
Strong growth for Ohio credit unions
COLUMBUS
Ohio credit unions added members for the eighth- consecutive quarter, according to data from the Ohio Credit Union League’s year-end quarterly performance summary.
Ohio membership jumped 1.23 percent from December 2009 to December 2010, nearly twice that of the national credit-union membership growth rate of 0.66 percent.
Ohio has 2.68 million members at 387 credit unions.
NRC: Plants are safe
ROCKVILLE, Md.
Inspectors have found problems with equipment, training and procedures at some U.S. nuclear reactors but none serious enough to undermine confidence in the plants’ continued safe operation, federal regulators said Thursday.
The problems identified during inspections over the past two months did not pose a significant safety risk and have been corrected, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission said.
