2 businesses to relocate downtown Youngstown
YOUNGSTOWN
Two downtown businesses are relocating, but neither is going far.
Two Guys Clothing, located at 107 W. Federal St. for about 20 years, is moving July 1 to the city-owned 20 Federal Place. That’s just a short distance from its current location.
The clothing and shoe store is moving because its landlord wants to use that location for the new home of the Touch the Moon Candy Saloon, currently at 8 S. Phelps St.
“We wanted to stay downtown; we’ve been here for a long time, and I have a lot of customers who know us,” said Kim Mitchell, owner of Two Guys. “My customers are like family to me. Many people [have] come in here for many years.”
The board of control approved a three-year contract with Two Guys at its Thursday meeting. The store will pay $18,150.75 a year for a 2,689-square-foot location on the main floor of the building at 20 W. Federal St. Its current location is 2,375 square feet.
Two Guys will open July 1 at the new location.
“It’s good for our business to stay downtown,” said Mitchell, a woman who purchased the business about seven years ago. “We’re moving to a nice area, and it will be easy for our customers to find us.”
Attempts on Thursday by The Vindicator to contact Jim Sutman were unsuccessful.
Sutman is the president and founder of ISLE (Iron and String Life Enhancement), which owns the candy store as well as other entities that raise money to provide recreation and social activities for those with mental and physical disabilities.
