Tanker plunges off overpass near Dayton, driver killed


FAIRBORN, Ohio (AP) — Authorities in southwest Ohio say the driver of a tanker truck is dead after it plunged from an interstate overpass onto a highway below.

The accident shutdown Interstate 675 outside Dayton near Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

The truck burst into flames after toppling onto Ohio Route 444. The highway also is closed as investigators look into what happened.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol tells multiple media outlets the accident was reported shortly before 11 a.m. today.
