Senior Tony Schialdone gave up four hits and struck out six while senior reliever Frank McDowell allowed one hit in the final inning for the Rockets (11-4) in a sectional final. Senior Anthony Alfano had a triple and single and three RBIs, senior Louie Lebron had a double and single and knocked in two runs and senior Mike Petronek had two singles and an RBI for Lowellville. Lowellville will play Springfield at Cene Park on Monday in a Div. IV district semifinal.

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Junior starter Nick Russell gave up three hits and struck out seven over the first six innings for the Tigers (13-6). Senior reliever Brad Ferraro faced five hitters in the seventh, allowing no hits and walking one. Joey Ohlin had a triple and two singles and scored three times, Ron Bovo had an RBI-dobule and scored three times and Jake Noble doubled and knocked in two runs for Springfield. Adam Coppock had a single, Andrew Batchelor and Matt May had a single apiece for Crestview.

The Bulldogs (15-2) collected 16 hits and put the sectional final game away in five innings. Erin Gabriel homered and doubled while Jenna Modic (5-1) pitched a two-hitter and doubled.

West Branch 5,

Wooster Triway 4

BELOIT

West Branch shoved across a run in the last of the eighth inning to advance. Emily Weber pitched a complete game and had a single and double for the Warriors (12-7). Erica Jones doubled for Triway (12-7).

Struthers 0

RAVENNA

Kayla Williams allowed just two singles and was supported by a 14-hit attack in a sectional final. Rachel Affagato and Katie Jordan had the hits for the Wildcats (10-13). Terra Coontz and Staci Stewart hit doubles for Southeast (7-5), and Payten Boston singled three times. The Pirates will play Ashtabula Edgewood on May 16 in a district semifinal.

Freshman Nicholette Maderitz had a three-run home run in the third and two-run homer in fifth and threw 13 strikeouts during a one-hitter as part of a sectional semifinal at Candlelite Knolls. Marina Bermann had a two-run homer, Dana Creatore had two hits and two RBIs and Brianna Curd had two hits and scored three runs. Ursuline (15-8) will play Newton Falls today at Candlelite Knolls. Kailey Olson had the lone hit — a single — for Liberty (0-9).

EAST PALESTINE

Junior Carly Blair had a two-run homer and single and sophomores Emily Duncan and Karly Pence both had two hits for East Palestine (12-6). Jamie Clausen and Katrina Larson each had a double and single for Mooney (14-10). East Palestine plays at Lisbon today at 5.

MINERAL RIDGE

Miranda Stith and Allissa Sparks both had two singles and Taylor Donnelly and Meghan Garland both doubled for Mineral Ridge (7-10). Garland and Karen Schilling both had two RBIs, while McKenzie Garland and Taylor Donnelly had an RBI apiece. Summer McCoy doubled for LaBrae (4-9). Mineral Ridge plays at Girard today at 4:30.

LISBON

Winning pitcher Lauren Ketchum struck out eight batters and walked three for the Blue Devils, who advance in the Div. III tournament to play East Palestine today. Ketchum’s two hits included a double and two RBIs. Shelby Vollnogle also had two hits including a double. Katie Crismon and Katie Snoddy also doubled.

Winning pitcher Bailey Shade (5-8) tossed a three-hitter and struck out 20 for the Tigers (7-10). Her three hits included two homers. Abbie Harrah had three hits including a homer while Lauren Walker had two hits. For Brookfield (5-14), Lauren Hawley, Shannon Chrnko and Alyssa Gould singled.
