Motorcyclist identified in fatal New Castle crash


NEW CASTLE, Pa.

State police have identified the person who was killed Tuesday when a car and a motorcycle collided on Pa. Route 108 in Scott Township.

Samuel Glies, 18, of Freedom, Pa., died after a car driven by Jane Tanner, 55, of New Castle pulled into his path from a stop sign on Heckathorne Road, police said.

Glies braked and turned the bike on its side, sliding into the car, police said. He fell off into the road.

No charges have been filed.
