The cases for three men charged with fleeing from and shooting at a township police officer are bound over to the Mahoning County grand jury.

Rogelio Rojas Pena, 23, of Youngstown; Eddie C. Laviena-DeJesus, 20, of Campbell; and Luis J. Parrilla, 31, of Youngstown; were charged in April with complicity to felonious assault on a police officer, after they fled from police and opened fire on Austintown Lt. Tom Collins on April 9.

Pena also is charged with fleeing and eluding and running a red light.

He and Laviena-DeJesus were scheduled for a pre-trial hearing Monday in Mahoning County Area Court in Austintown, where their cases were bound over to the grand jury, according to court personnel.

New arraignment dates at Mahoning County Common Pleas Court hadn’t been scheduled as of Tuesday.
