3 remain hospitalized after smalll-plane crash in Ravenna
RAVENNA, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a pilot whose small plane was having engine trouble was looking for a place to land when he hit the top of a tree and crashed into a field in northeast Ohio, seriously injuring himself and two passengers.
The state highway patrol says the plane was headed from Canal Fulton to Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport when it crashed in Ravenna on Tuesday night. It wasn’t clear what type of plane it was.
The 63-year-old pilot, Thomas Bell of Stow, and 40-year-old passenger Dawn Semple of Ravenna were taken by helicopter to an Akron hospital. The other passenger, 37-year-old Neil Semple of Ravenna, was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
All three were listed in serious condition in intensive care this morning.
