Stokes’ 6 RBIs power Leetonia to victory

LEETONIA

Cody Stokes tied a school record with six runs batted in and he hit a home run to lead Leetonia over Lisbon 18-8 in a Division IV sectional baseball tournament game on Monday.

Nick Altomare homered and doubled for the Bears, who advance to play at Columbiana today. Ian Sevenich had four hits and three RBIs, Lance Tullis hit a triple and double, and Brandon Dattilio hit a double.

Tullis was also the winning pitcher.

SOFTBALL

CORTLAND

Alexas Neumeister (6-1) was the winning pitcher and had a triple and a single for Lakeview in a 5-4 win over Geneva in a Division II sectional tournament game.

Lauren Casassa added two singles and Alyssa Nicholas tripled for the Bulldogs (10-3), who next play Ashtabula Edgewood.

Sydney McCaleb hit a triple and a single for Geneva (7-8), while Lindsey Gibson hit a triple. Both players had two RBIs.
