Ohio troopers seize marijuana worth $530K

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Two men face felony drug charges after an Ohio traffic stop led to the seizure of about 106 pounds of especially potent marijuana valued at more than a half-million dollars.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the drugs were found after troopers stopped a sport utility vehicle for speeding Saturday in the Toledo suburb of Springfield Township.

Troopers say a search of the SUV turned up $3,000 and six duffel bags containing packages of a particularly potent type of marijuana usually cultivated in western Canada. They say the packages are valued at more than $530,000.

A 53-year-old California man and a 30-year-old passenger from Washington state were arrested on charges of drug abuse and drug trafficking.
