Man hit in head
WARREN
A 36-year-old Eastland Avenue Northeast man reported being hit in the right side of his head by an unidentified person while he was walking his dog on Eastland at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday.
Police responded to a call from a witness who saw a man on the ground bleeding, who then got up and ran away.
The victim walked up to the officers while they were looking for him, and he was wet and bleeding. He told police he jumped into a small lake near the intersection with East Market Street to hide from the person who struck him.
The victim, who suffered a bloody nose and lacerations on the side of his head, said nothing was stolen from him, and the suspect didn’t say anything during the assault.
Struck by car
WARREN
A 58-year-old Woodview Avenue Southwest man reported being struck by a car that was backing out of a corner store on Parkman Road Southwest at 9:48 p.m. Sunday.
Police were called to Dawlah Convenient store, 1104 Palmyra Road Southwest, where the victim told them he was attempting to cross Palmyra Road near Parkman Road when he was struck by the car.
The driver of the car had quickly exited the store just before getting into the car and had not closed his door yet at the time he hit the victim, police said.
The victim said he would have his son take him to the hospital for treatment.
