BOOK SALES
Friends of the Community Library of Shenango Valley will have a spring book sale from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the library, 11 N. Sharpsville Ave., Sharon, Pa. All proceeds are donated to the library.
Friends of the Cortland Library will have a book sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Cortland Christian Church, 153 Grove St. Proceeds will support programs and services of the Cortland Branch of Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 212 N. High St.
CARD, BINGO PARTIES
Liberty Presbyterian Church, 1451 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, will have a basket bingo at 1 p.m. Sunday in the church fellowship hall. A $5 donation will include three bingo cards and light refreshments. Seating is limited. Call 330-759-1556 for advance tickets.
St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church GCU Lodge 164 will have a bingo night May 18 at St. Mary’s Assumption Social Center, 356 S. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., and games begin at 6:45. There will be a raffle for six gift baskets and a $500 matching fund donated by the GCU home office.
CRAFT SHOWS
Vendors are needed for the 24th Annual Arts & Crafts in the Park, to take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 25 at Centennial Park, East Pershing Street, Salem. Setup is at 7 a.m., rain or shine. A 20-by-20-foot space costs $25. Take your own tables and chairs, or they will be supplied for $35. Tents will be allowed, but no electricity is available. DANCES
A Season For Change, a nonprofit organization associated with New Leaf Residential Services, is planning a spring dance from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Old North Church, 7105 Herbert Road, Canfield. Admission of $5 includes pizza, chips and a beverage.
SALES
CWF will host a spring-cleaning sale at Canfield Christian Church, 123 N. Broad St., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 20 and 21. All unsold items will be donated to local charities. Concessions will be available.
First United Methodist Church, 237 W. Silver St., Sharon, Pa., will have a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Walking tacos can be purchased for lunch, and there will be a bake sale. Saturday will be a dollar-a-bag-sale from 9 a.m. to noon.
Girard Junior Women will have a trunk sale 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday across from the city building, 100 W. Main St. Vendors can rent a parking spot for $10 and sell their articles from a table or from the trunk of their cars. Call 330-545-5962 for more information.
Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore, 480 Youngstown-Poland Road, Struthers, is having a birthday party and tent sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 28. In celebration of the store’s third birthday, there will be special bargains on furniture, home decor, building materials, appliances and much more. Refreshments will be served. Proceeds support the local Habitat for Humanity Mission.

W.E.L.C.A. Women’s Group of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 388 E. Midlothian Blvd., Youngstown, will host a trunk treasures sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 4 (rain date is June 11) at the church parking lot. Reserve a space for $10 and sell articles out of the trunk of the car. Payment is required by May 28. Hot dogs and soft drinks will be available, and there will be a 50-50 raffle, a raffle for a Covered by the Cross afghan donated by June Bell, and a used book sale. A String of Pearls Red Hat Society June Group will present a gala day at Catawba Island Club on the shores of Lake Erie on June 24. Fancy 3 Travel Club has three trips planned: Wheeling and The Rivers Casino on May 21 and July 9 for $45 per person; Breast Cancer Relay for Life fundraiser to The Rivers, May 28 for $30 per person; and The Rivers Casino, June 11 for $30 per person.

Pink Ribbon Golf Classic Committee for 2011 is sponsoring a bus trip to The Rivers Casino on Saturday. All proceeds will be given to the American Cancer Society. Sutliff Museum has scheduled the following one-day bus tours: Saturday to the Simon Perkins Stone Mansion in Akron, to Hudson for lunch (order from the menu on your own) and for shopping. The cost is $45; June 14 to Meadville, Pa., and the Baldwin Reynolds House, then to Cambridge Springs, Pa., for a luncheon ($12) and to Campbell Pottery Store and Gallery in Warren. The cost is $45; and July 13 to the Ward-Thomas House in Niles, to Avalon Gardens in Youngstown for lunch ($9.50) and to the Arms Family Museum of Local History, the Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church and the Butler Institute of American Art, all in Youngstown.
