Woman, 76, bleeds from head from robbery, beating on East Side

A 76-year-old woman was found bleeding heavily from her head after a robbery on the city’s East Side, police reported.

The robbery occurred about 6 p.m. Sunday while the woman was walking along McGuffey Road, police said.

The woman told officers two men in a tan car exited their vehicle, grabbed her purse and when she resisted, the men hit her, pushed her to the ground and kicked her, according to reports.

Police said two witnesses who stopped to help the woman confirmed her account of the attack. The woman was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center.
