First National Bank of Pennsylvania recently announced the hiring of Richard M. Beaty II as vice president of capital markets. Beaty, a Mechanicsburg, Pa., native, will direct the creation of a loan-syndications platform for FNB. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and business from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in business administration from Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business.

Stanley E. Shearer was recently certified as an Accredited Estate Planner by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils. Shearer’s office is at 55 N. Canfield-Niles Road in Youngstown.

David Reese, M.D., will be promoted to vice president of medical sciences at Amgen Inc. in Canfield. Reese, who joined Amgen in 2005, previously served as therapeutic area head for oncology early development. He will be responsible for leading the medical sciences organization. Reese received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Harvard College and his doctorate from the University of Cincinnati.
