Volant to host tea and garden parties

VOLANT, PA.

A traveling tea party and a garden party have been scheduled for May 14 at the shops along Main Street.

At each stop on the tour a cup of specialty tea and one menu item will be available.

Participating shops and menu items are as follows: The Kitchen Shoppe, fresh scones with lemon curd and fresh fruit; Attic Treasures, gourmet spinach items; Special-Teas Etc., tea sandwiches; Neshannock Creek Inn, chicken salad on petite croissants; and Scooters Sandwich Shop, baklava.

The cost for the event is $20 in advance and includes a mug, shopping bag and an entry in a drawing for a gift certificate. For reservations call the Kitchen Shoppe at 724-533-2983 or 800-435-0015 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays or noon to 5 Sunday.

Also scheduled throughout the day in Volant will be a biscotti and pizzelle tasting at Volant Meeting House, a miniature Victorian tea party display and raffle for a miniature tea set at Volant Miniature Shop, wine tasting at Volant Mill Winery, a gift basket raffle at Special-Teas Etc., a live butterfly display and seeds for butterfly-attracting flowers at The Shoppe at River’s Edge, a gift basket raffle at the Kitchen Shoppe and a plant exchange at Miss Scarlett’s Gift Parlor.
