A summary of criminal activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

April 28

Mutual Aid: The Mahoning County Sheriff requested mutual aid from Canfield’s police dog on Shields Road, in search of a person after a homeowner complaint. The dog picked up a track but then lost it and the decision was made to terminate its participation. Due to heavy winds and weather conditions the dog no longer could establish a track.

May 1

Warrant: Police arrested D’Andre Rushton, 20, of 131 Millet Ave., Youngstown, at North Broad Street and Newton Square on a warrant for probation violation stemming from a petty- theft charge.

AUSTINTOWN

April 25

Assault: Police arrested in the 1000 block of Compass West apartments Jeffrey Brown, 18, of 3734 Choice Cout, Youngstown on charges of aggravated menacing and illegal possession of weapons; and Dwayne Nadal, 25, of 4340 Webster Ave., Youngstown, on a charge of falsification.

Breaking and entering: Copper tubing was stolen from a home in the 5000 block of Yorktown Lane.

Theft: A handgun was stolen from a home in the 50 block of North Edgehill Avenue.

Theft: An Ohio rear license plate was stolen from an auto at a home in the 4000 block of Pembrook Road.

April 26

Felonious assault: A male attacked a female at Dollar General, 1735 S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: Police issued Jennifer Polchs, 38, of 2632 S. Raccoon Road a summons for theft of a bra at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A purse was stolen from an auto and later recovered at a home in the 100 block of Westminster Avenue.

April 27

Burglary: Coins were reported taken at a home in the 200 block of First Street.

Theft: $141.75 in free lunches were obtained fraudulently for 51/2 months by a student who used an access code of another student at Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive.

Theft: A Western Express, fully loaded trailer was stolen at Pilot, 1150 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Telecommunications harassment: Numerous calls were made to a home in the 400 block of South Raccoon Road.

Vandalism: Lawn damage was reported at Lloyd Elementary School, 5705 Norquest Blvd.

April 28

Menacing: A man is accused of menacing at a home in the 200 block of Idlewood Road.

Theft: A man and woman left Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave., with $181.16 in stolen meat and beer but left the items when stopped.

Warrant: Police arrested Cherron Lucas, 25, and David Lucas, 26, both of 1215 Idaho Road, on a warrant for child endangering and felonious assault.

Theft: Operatos of the Comfort Inn, 5425 Clarkins Drive, reported that money was missing 11 times between December and January for a total of $3,270.56 in deposits that weren’t made on second shift.

Theft: $70.93 in gasoline was stolen at Country Fair, 1143 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

April 29

Theft: Two people took granola bars and aspirin from Sheetz Gas Station, 5499 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: An iPhone was stolen at Crossroads Church, 554 S. Meridian Road.

Warrant: Police arrested Michael T. Murray, 47, of 5878 W. Georgia Ave., Sebring, at state Route 45 and U.S. Route 224 on a warrant for telephone harassment.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made on a victim’s checking account at a home in the 3000 block of Starwick Drive.

Theft: $278.96 in room service and long distance calls were not paid for at the Hampton Inn, 880 N.Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: A Samsung cell phone was stolen at Buy the Beach, 5521 Mahoning Ave.

Warrant: Police arrested Margaret Gregory,48, of 34 S. Schenley Ave., Youngstown, at Mahoning Avenue and Meridian Road on a warrant for failure to appear.

April 30

Domestic violence: Police charged Bruce Goudy, 54, of 292 N. Edgehill Ave., with the crime at his home.

Theft: Two males took a license plate from an auto at the Comfort Inn, 5425 Clarkins Drive.

Theft: $14.95 in gas was stolen at Country Fair, 1143 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Burglary: A 46-inch Sanyo flat-screen television was taken at a home in the 3000 block of S.Meridian Road.

Disorderly conduct: Police issued a summons to Daniel Thompson,60, of 472 N. Osborn Ave., Youngstown, for disorderly conduct at Clarkins Drive and state Route 46.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was scratched with a key in the parking lot at Wedgewood Lanes, 1741 S. Raccoon Road.

Criminal trespassing: Police charged Cornelius Jackson,46, of 1000 Homewood Ave. SE, Warren, with the crime at Rebel 38, 5335 Seventy-Six Drive.

May 1

Theft: A woman’s purse was stolen at the Babylon, 114 Javit Court.

Assault: A woman was the victim of an assault at Bill’s Place, 4771 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Martin Chizmar,48,of 2734 Burbank Ave., Youngstown was issued a summons for theft of seven items valued at $35.69 at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Domestic violence: Police arrested Analisia Bires, 20, of 1959 S. Raccoon Road, on the charge at her home.

Theft: A purse, camera and $780 in cash was taken from an auto in the 5000 block of Heron’s Blvd.

Recovered property: A wallet was recovered at BW-3’s, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Telecommunications harassment: Unwanted phone calls were being received by an ex-boyfriend at a home in the 6000 block of Mahoning Ave.

Recovered property: A tan wallet containing numerous forms of identification, some of which were fake, was recovered at Home Depot, 6100 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A wallet, keys and a ring were taken from a purse at Wylie Coyotes, 4176 Mahoning Ave.
