JAMESTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A funeral is set for an Army nurse killed by a sniper in Afghanistan in his western Pennsylvania hometown, where his grandmother serves as mayor.
The body of Army reserve Capt. Joshua McClimans will be buried today after his funeral at Jamestown Presbyterian Church, about 75 miles northwest of Pittsburgh near the Ohio border.
McClimans was shot April 22 as he was on his way to work at Forward Operating Base Salerno, in Khost province near Kabul. He was a member of the 848th Forward Surgical Team based in Twinsburg, Ohio.
McClimans would have turned 31 on May 12.
McClimans graduated in 1998 from Jamestown High School where he was a standout wrestler, but recently lived near Akron, Ohio.
