Humane Society of Columbiana County schedules boccie tournament at the lake

LISBON

The Humane Society of Columbiana County Roll for the Roses Benefit Boccie Tournament has been scheduled for Saturday at Guilford Lake Grille, 7094 Eastlake Road, at Guilford Lake State Park.

The event is open to amateurs and professionals, who can participate in the event on four-person teams beginning at 11:30 a.m. Beginners lessons will be offered.

The entry fee is $15 per person, and the first 50 to enter the tournament will receive T-shirts.

Beginning at 1 p.m., spectators and players will have an opportunity to take part in the Fabulous Derby Hat Contest or the Derby Dash.

Throughout the day there will be food, prizes, mint juleps, music and trivia sponsored by DPS Penn and the grille.

Proceeds from the day’s events will benefit the Humane Society and be used for the investigation into abused, neglected and unwanted pets and for their care.

Those wishing to enter the tournament can register at Morris Financial, 274 Penn Ave., Salem; the HSCC ROCC, Rescue and Adoption Center, 1825 S. Lincoln Ave., Salem; the Chef’s Table, 1245 Market St., Lisbon; or at the grille.
