The D.D. & Velma Davis Family YMCA will host the Sprint Distance Triathlon on May 15.

The event, which begins at 7:30 a.m., will consist of a 500-yard swim in the Y pools, 14.5-mile bike course and 5K run.

This year’s event features the addition of a men’s, women’s and mixed team division for those who would like to participate in just a portion of the race.

The event is held in partnership with the Steel Valley Tri Club. All proceeds raised during the event will benefit the Y’s Strong Kids Campaign.

Race slots are limited. Participants can register in person at the Y or download a race application online at youngstownymca.org. All applications must be received at the Davis Branch by 5 p.m. on May 11. There is no day of race registration. Registration fees are $40 for Steel Valley Tri Club members and $45 for all others.
