Local radio personality pleads guilty to possessing child porn

A long-time Y-103 morning show host faces up to a decade in prison after pleading guilty in federal court to possession of child pornography.

William “Scott” Kennedy, 55, of Lexington Drive in Hermitage, Pa., pleaded Tuesday to one count of the pornography charge, which brings with it the possibility for up to 10 years is prison and a fine of up to $250,000, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Justice.

His sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 25.

Authorities caught Kennedy with the illegal materials in December 2009, the news release said.

Y-103 Radio (Cumulus Broadcasting) personel didn’t return calls for comment Wednesday afternoon.

A spokeswoman for the Department of Justice said she couldn’t release any additional details on the case at this time.

Kennedy was taken into custody by U.S. marshals immediately following his hearing.
