ELECTION UPDATE: Close race in Struthers 1st Ward council seat

YOUNGSTOWN — With about half the precincts counted, there is just a 16-vote separation for the Struthers 1st Ward seat in the Democratic Primary election. Incumbent Tony Fire has the slight lead over Anthony R. Protopapa Jr.

All incumbent councilmen at-large — Ronald Mathews, Michael Patrick and Daniel Yemma — also appear to be headed for victory.
