East Liverpool man dies in motorcycle accident

EAST LIVERPOOL — An East Liverpool man is dead after losing control of the motorcycle he was riding.

Merle G. Reese, 47, lost control while attempting to merge onto U.S. Route 30 from state Route 170 in St. Clair Township just after noon today, according to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Lisbon Post.

Reese was taken to East Liverpool Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the patrol reported.

Troopers are still investigating the accident. Reese wasn’t wearing a helmet, and alcohol isn’t believed to be a factor, the patrol said.
