“Unthinkable: THE ALZHEIMER’S EPIDEMIC” (8 P.M., CNN): Larry King returns to the air with his first special, “Unthinkable: the Alzheimer’s Epidemic.” King examines who gets the mysterious illness and why, and also looks at the race to find effective treatments.
“South Riding” (9 p.m., PBS): “South Riding” is the latest offering from “Masterpiece Classic.” It’s a three-part adaptation of Winifred Holtby’s novel about a teacher (Anna Maxwell Martin) who returns home to Yorkshire to apply for the job of headmistress at a girls school, only to butt heads with a stern landowner (David Morrissey).
“Law & Order: CRIMINAL INTENT” (9 P.M., USA): “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” launches its 10th and final season with Vincent D’Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe returning to the roles of Detectives Robert Goren and Alexandra Eames. It airs just before the Season 4 premiere of “In Plain Sight.”
