SENIOR SIDELIGHTS
Austintown Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, has planned the following: Monday, free blood pressure screenings at 9:30 a.m., painting and drawing class ($5 fee and take your own materials) at 9:30, bingo at 10 and lunch at 11:30; Tuesday, line dancing at 10 a.m., lunch at 11:30, bingo at noon and golf league at Mill Creek Par 3 at 2 p.m. for those who signed up at the center; Wednesday, bingo at 10 a.m., lunch at 11:30, and tai chi and Wii bowling tournament at noon; Thursday, yoga at 9:30 a.m. and lunch at 11:30 followed by a Mother’s Day party and bingo; Friday, Wii bowling tournament at 9:30 a.m., lunch at 11:30 with Mark Ludwick from Senior News as the speaker, and bingo and a taping of Senior Focus TV with Bill Adams and Ludwick at noon. Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer guardianship program of Trumbull County Probate Court, which reaches out in friendship to the elderly and alone in Trumbull County by providing trained, qualified volunteers, is seeking volunteers to serve as advocates. Featured will be a presentation on Alzheimer’s disease.
Shenango Valley Performing Arts Council and Buhl Park will sponsor a Senior Prom for anyone 60 and older from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. May 22 at Buhl Timblin Casino, 715 Hazen Road, Hermitage, Pa. Tickets are $7 in advance and include food and beverage. They are available at the casino; Shenango Valley Senior Center, 220 N.
