Goodyear to sponsor engineering career day

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. will host its 11th Annual Engineering Career Day for Young Women from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 30 at Firestone High School, 333 Rampart Ave.

The purpose is to inspire girls in grades six through 12 to pursue engineering, science and technology careers with interactive, hands-on, fun and informative activities. The program is free, and lunch will be provided.

Goodyear also is awarding two $500 scholarships to young women pursuing an education in engineering. An application and more information are available at www.goodyear.com/careerday, where students can also register for career day. The deadline for scholarship applications is Friday, and the deadline to register for career day is April 15.
