Body pulled from river


FAYETTE CITY, Pa. (AP) — Emergency officials say a body has been recovered from the Monongahela River in southwestern Pennsylvania.

Fayette County dispatchers say the body was discovered Tuesday night in Washington Township, about 25 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.

Officials say the woman’s body was found tangled in low-hanging branches by a tow boat operator. The body was pulled from the river and turned over to the county coroner’s office.

No other information was immediately available.
