400 protest Regional Chamber's support of SB5

YOUNGSTOWN — More than 400 people rallied in protest of the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber's support of Ohio Senate Bill 5 this afternoon outside the chamber’s headquarters at 11 Central Square.

Union representatives, students and workers gathered downtown in chilling temperatures to show their opposition to the chamber's endorsement and the bill, which would curtail collective-bargaining rights for public employees.

Protesters carried signs that read “Stop the war on workers” and chanted “Who’s got to go; Humphries has got to go!”

Tom Humphries is the chamber's president and chief executive officer. The chamber’s board of directors voted earlier this month to support the bill.
