Paige Kiraly threw 12 strikeouts in a seven-inning perfect game. Caitlyn Carney had two doubles and two singles and three RBIs for Jackson-Milton (1-0, 1-0 ITCL Tier Two). Kiraly also had a double, while Katie Santor had two RBIs.
Champion 18, Liberty 1
CHAMPION
Tawny Rogers had three singles, Haley McAllister had two doubles, Taylor Petersal had a three-run homer and Brooke Culler had a solo homer for Champion. The Golden Flashes (1-0) had 18 hits in the 41/2-inning game. Lindsay Swipas pitched three innings of no-hit ball before sophomore Kayla Hunt relieved and pitched the fourth and fifth. Swipas, a junior, threw five strikeouts and issued no walks. Liberty’s lone hit in the fourth was Breana Comer’s single that scored Leah Leshnack.

Alyssa Hutzler went 4-for-5 with a double, Emily Magill went 4-for-4 with a triple, Ashley Seybert had a single and triple and Laurie Warino had a single and double for McDonald (1-0, 1-0 ITCL Tier Two). Seybert (1-0), a sophomore, allowed just three hits in five innings. Nina Aratari had a two-run homer and single for Leetonia (0-1, 0-1).
