Track relay team competes at indoor state meet

The 4x800 meter relay team comprised of seniors Carissa Plourde and Katie Heney, junior Tori Moore and freshman Sydni Ogilvie qualified to the indoor state track and field meet held at Akron March 19.

They ran a season-best time of 10:12.22 to finish 14th out of the final 16 in the state.

Plourde ran the first leg in 2:35, Ogivlie ran the second leg in 2:30, dropping four seconds off her previous best time.

Heney ran 2:33, dropping three seconds and Moore anchored running 2:32.

Sophomore Daisy Corso served as the alternate for the relay.

The indoor season is now complete, and the girls will open the outdoor season today with a tri-meet with Cleveland Beaumont and Cleveland St. Joe.
