Anyone who has ever wondered what would happen if a nightclub singer, a stowaway in love with an engaged heiress, a public enemy, and his air-headed girlfriend all took the same cruise from New York City to London may finally get an answer.

Canfield High School’s Canfield Players will be performing Cole Porter’s “Anything Goes” on April 7-9 in the Canfield High School auditorium.

The show stars Amanda Myhal as singer Reno, Jake Tancer as stowaway Billy Crocker, Carly Magnuson as heiress Hope Harcourt, Nathan Pecchia as Hope’s fianc Sir Evelyn Oakley, Joshua Fleming as criminal Moonface Martin, and Gia Velasquez as his girlfriend Bonnie.

“It’s absolutely hilarious,” said Tancer, “Amanda and Carly and Josh are really talented. So are Nate and Gia. The whole show should be really awesome.”

Director and school counselor Becky Heikkinen agreed.

“It’s a musical farce. Farces are always funny.”

The performance will be the first tap show Canfield High School has done in over 12 years. It features what Myhal called “a lot of high energy dances” in addition to the talented cast.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. However, if purchased before March 31, tickets cost $12 for adults and $8 for students.

Tickets may be purchased at the door, at school lunch periods starting Monday, or by calling 330-533-5507, extension 7128.
