ABWA honors Woman of the Year

The Mill Creek Chapter of ABWA named Shirley Pappagallo as its 2011-2012 Woman of the Year on March 8.

Pappagallo has been a member since 1988, has held every office and was this year’s treasurer. She is in charge of all of the group’s fundraisers during the year, including candy sales, selling programs at YSU games and auctions.

She is active in the chapter’s Relay for Life Team and works with the Special Olympics at the Austintown event in the summer.

She is employed by Verizon Wireless in Boardman as a collector. She retired from Ohio Bell and all the companies during the changeover.

Pappagallo has the opportunity to attend either the spring conference in St. Louis or the national convention in Irvine, Texas, in fall as the Mill Creek chapter’s representative.
