Mahoning County plans pothole patching

AUSTINTOWN — To patch numerous potholes, Mahoning County commissioners authorized the emergency purchase of up to $50,000 worth of cold-mix asphalt from Central Allied Enterprises in Canton.

The county engineer’s office exhausted the cold-mix supply it made, and the weather hasn’t been dry enough to make more, explained Marilyn Kenner, chief deputy county engineer.

If the weather stays dry, a plant that makes hot-mix asphalt for more permanent pothole repairs should open April 4, she added.
