Elderly pedestrian hit in Youngstown

City police are investigating an accident involving a car and a pedestrian. The woman, who appeared to be elderly, was crossing the intersection of Mahoning Avenue and South Dunlap around 8:15 p.m. Thursday when she was struck, according to The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, 21 WFMJ-TV. Police said the woman, whose name wasn’t released Thursday night, is in stable condition. It’s not known whether the driver of the car will be cited, WFMJ reported.
Lost Pomeranian
BOARDMAN
A woman dropped off a lost male Pomeranian at the Boardman police station Thursday morning. She found the dog on Glenwood Avenue near Southwoods Avenue on Thursday. Anyone with information on the dog is asked to call Boardman police at 330-726-4144.
North Side raid
Youngstown
One man was arrested after Youngstown police conducted a search warrant inside a North Side home. The department’s vice unit raided 2131 Elm Street around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, according to police, but found nothing of consequence. Four adults and numerous children were inside the house when police arrived. Police arrested Kalvin Franklin, 41, of Verona Avenue in Youngstown, on two outstanding warrants — drug abuse marijuana and identify fraud.

Liberty Township trustees will have a special meeting at 9 a.m. today at the township administration building, 1315 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, to discuss negotiations and personnel.
Eavesdropping case
WARREN
Barbara Ruggieri, one of three corrections officers at the Trumbull County jail accused of eavesdropping on supervisors through an intercom system, has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor falsification charge. Ruggieri, 45, of Meadowbrook Drive in Warren, entered the plea Thursday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court. She will be sentenced after a pre-sentence investigation. Authorities said Ruggieri, Robert J. Rihel Jr., 46, of Anderson Anthony Road, Leavittsburg, and Timothy J. Billock, 45, of East Broad Street, Newton Falls were placed on administrative leave Nov. 3. Rihel is indicted on 23 counts of interception of wire, oral or electronic communications; Billock is indicted on six counts. Both await trial.
