Daytime lane restrictions on Interstate 680 that were set to begin Monday were postponed for a couple of weeks due to project- scheduling conflicts, said Justin Chesnic, ODOT District 4 spokesman.

I-680 from Silliman Street to Woodland Avenue will have various daytime lane restrictions in either or both directions between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. for bridge reconstruction. Silliman Street and Woodland Avenue will have various daytime lane restrictions in either or both directions between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. This work is the beginning of a $14.1 million project to rehabilitate seven bridges along I-680.

Still hospitalized

NILES

Police have been unable to interview the chief suspect in the homicide of Lisa Fisher, 39, found dead in her home on South Cleveland Avenue on Feb. 8. Dr. Humphrey Germaniuk, Trumbull County coroner, ruled Fisher’s death a homicide, caused by blunt-force trauma to the head.

Bruce Simeone, Niles police chief, said Monday the investigation has been slowed by his department’s inability to interview Fisher’s husband, John Fisher, 53, who was found in the home Feb. 8 also. John Fisher was critically injured, the result of apparently self-inflicted lacerations, police said.

Simeone said it appears that John Fisher will survive, but it is unknown when police will be able to interview him. John Fisher remains hospitalized, Simeone said. Simeone earlier characterized the Feb. 8 episode as a murder-attempted suicide.
